Text Messaging vs. Morse Code

The Tonight Show

This is great...  Here's a clip of Text Messaging vs. Morse Code on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

(The clip is available in Windows Media format on the main link, or MPEG format down a little ways.)

Hey Don, could you turn on full text for the RSS for your posts? I'd appreciate it.
Oh, I heard about this a while ago... funny. Also, I heard about the guy who set a world record for texting. He sent some ridiculously huge amount of text in one month... something like 2 messages a minute or something.

Hi Matt,

Uh, lessee... oh, that's easy. MovableType defaults to an excert.

(Ahh, but what about the world record for Morse Code? Considering that some
people used to do that for a living, I'll can't help but think that the Morse Code
world record is more impressive.)

Very cool! I thought Morse would be faster than Text Messaging. It was! Better ergonomics, I think.

But... have any of you ever heard of stenography? That's the method of using machine shorthand via a court reporting keyboard/machine. The world record is 360 _words_ per minute with 97.23% accuracy.
